About this course
Mechanical and offshore engineering combines the fundamentals of mechanical systems with the specialised demands of the energy sector, particularly oil, gas, and renewable offshore installations. Mechanical engineering is one of the oldest and broadest branches of the discipline, concerned with the design, analysis, manufacture, and maintenance of everything from individual components to large-scale systems. The offshore dimension adds a distinctive layer of challenge: structures must withstand extreme marine environments, dynamic loading from waves and wind, and the logistical complexity of remote operation and maintenance. At Robert Gordon University, this four-year degree provides a thorough grounding in the core mechanical engineering sciences, including thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, materials science, structural analysis, and dynamics. You will develop the ability to approach en
