About this course

Product design is the practice of conceiving, developing, and refining objects and systems that serve human needs with clarity and intelligence. It sits between art, engineering, and social science, requiring designers who can identify problems, generate creative solutions, test them against real-world constraints, and bring products through from idea to manufacture. Good product design is rarely just about appearance; it involves understanding how people live and work, what materials and processes can deliver, and how sustainability and ethics shape what it is right to make. This three-year, full-time programme at Bangor includes a foundation year that eases your transition into undergraduate study and builds the foundational skills and knowledge you need to thrive in the main degree. The programme also includes a placement year and a year abroad, both of which give you the opportunity
