Midwifery is a profession centred on supporting women and families through one of the most significant experiences of their lives. Midwives provide expert clinical care across pregnancy, labour, birth and the early postnatal period, drawing on a thorough understanding of physiology, evidence-based practice and the interpersonal skills required to care for people in moments of vulnerability, uncertainty and profound change. Advanced midwifery programmes prepare practitioners who are ready to work across the full scope of midwifery practice from the outset.
