About this course
Aeronautical engineering addresses the design, development, and maintenance of aircraft, spacecraft, and associated systems, applying the principles of fluid mechanics, structures, propulsion, and control to some of the most demanding engineering challenges in existence. Aircraft must be both extremely light and extraordinarily strong, must function reliably across enormous ranges of speed and altitude, and must do so with the highest possible standards of safety. Aeronautical engineers are at the forefront of some of the most exciting engineering developments of the century, from electric aircraft and sustainable aviation fuels to hypersonic vehicles and autonomous systems. At Wrexham University, this six-year full-time programme includes a foundation year, making it accessible to students who need to build their scientific and mathematical foundations before entering the main engineer
