The role

As a production and process engineer, you look at how things are made and work out how to do it better. You'll watch production lines, find where things slow down or go wrong, and think up solutions. You'll also check that everything meets the right standards and quality.

You'll spend time both at your desk looking at data and on the factory floor talking to the people who make things. You work with different teams - production, quality, engineers - to solve problems and make improvements. It's problem-solving work that needs a mix of thinking and practical skills.

Daily responsibilities

  • Analyze production processes to identify areas for improvement and efficiency gains.
  • Develop and implement process control strategies to enhance product quality.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot production issues.
  • Conduct experiments and tests to evaluate new production techniques and technologies.
  • Monitor production metrics and compile reports for management review.
  • Design and optimize workflows to streamline manufacturing operations.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Train and mentor junior engineers and production staff on best practices.
