About this course

Cyber security and digital forensics addresses two of the most pressing challenges of the digital age: protecting systems and data from malicious attack, and investigating the digital evidence left behind when crimes are committed. Cyber security draws on computer science, network engineering, and cryptography to identify vulnerabilities, design defences, and respond to incidents. Digital forensics applies structured investigative methods to recover, preserve, and analyse digital evidence from devices, networks, and cloud systems, in ways that meet the evidential standards required by courts and regulatory bodies. Together they cover both the prevention and the investigation of digital crime.
