About this course
Computer games technology is a discipline concerned with the engineering side of game development: the programming, mathematics, and systems architecture that make games run. While game design focuses on what a game does and how it feels to play, games technology focuses on how it works, covering real-time rendering, physics simulation, artificial intelligence, networking, audio systems, and the architecture of modern game engines. It is a technically demanding field that draws on computer science, mathematics, and the specific engineering challenges of producing interactive experiences that run in real time. At Abertay University this four-year full-time programme is taught at an institution with a long-standing and internationally recognised reputation in game education. The degree focuses on developing highly skilled games programmers with deep knowledge of the engines and hardware t
