Master Wireless Communications and RF Systems, Computing Sciences and Electrical Engineering, Master of Science (Technology) (2 yrs)
About this course
Wireless communications โ connecting people and thingsDigitalisation is here to stay and it builds on an efficient wireless communications infrastructure. Apply now and start building your future in shaping a more connected, efficient, and sustainable world! Shaping the future of connectivityWe live in a world where not only people but also machines, vehicles and infrastructure communicate wirelessly. The Internet of Things, the Industrial Internet, and 5G/6G mobile networks are the forerunners of a connected and programmable world having an impact on a wide range of industries, such as energy, transportation, defence, healthcare, logistics and manufacturing. Seamless communication and energy-efficient solutions pave the way for sustainable future. Another prevailing trend in society and industry is robotisation. Modern inventions, such as autonomous cars and drones, strongly rely on efficient and reliable wireless communications while also utilising radio-based positioning and sensing/radar technologies. Wireless communications and radio frequency (RF) technologies enable a wide variety of applications ranging from everyday consumer products to high-end industrial machines, robots and space systems. Artificial intelligence and machine learning tools are used more and more to process RF signals in transceivers as well as in various modelling and circuit design environments. What can we offer to you?Our curriculum combines solid theory with hands-on experience in flexible manner. Our broad selection of courses covers topics such as Wireless communication systems (including 5G/6G networks)Radio-based positioning and sensing/radar systemsRadio-frequency integrated circuits designRF and antenna engineeringTelecommunication engineering is the highest-ranked subject at Tampere University in the Shanghai Ranking.
