Career Progression Path
Is this the only route?
This is the standard academic trajectory, but modern careers are highly flexible. You can often skip stages by entering the industry with an advanced qualification (like a Master's or PhD), or pivot sideways from a related discipline.
University Degree
Usually 3 to 4 years of full-time academic study, explicitly preparing you for the theoretical realities of the industry.
Junior Vehicle Body Builder/Repairer
As a junior, you will assist experienced body builders and repairers, learning the ropes and gaining hands-on experience in a workshop setting.
Mid-Level Vehicle Body Builder/Repairer
In a mid-level role, you will take on more complex repairs, work independently, and may supervise junior staff while honing your technical skills.
Senior Vehicle Body Builder/Repairer
As a senior professional, you will lead projects, mentor junior staff, and may be involved in training and developing new techniques within the workshop.
