Career Progression Path
Is this the only route?
This is the standard academic trajectory, but modern careers are highly flexible. You can often skip stages by entering the industry with an advanced qualification (like a Master's or PhD), or pivot sideways from a related discipline.
University Degree
Usually 3 to 4 years of full-time academic study, explicitly preparing you for the theoretical realities of the industry.
Junior Stunt Performer
At this stage, you assist experienced stunt performers and learn the ropes of the industry. You'll train in various stunt techniques and may perform minor stunts under supervision.
Stunt Performer
As a mid-level stunt performer, you take on more significant roles and perform complex stunts. You'll collaborate with directors and choreographers to create thrilling action sequences.
Stunt Coordinator
At the peak of your career, you oversee all stunt work on productions, coordinating teams and ensuring safety while delivering spectacular performances. You may also mentor aspiring stunt performers.
