The UK Degree Advantage
A UK degree in agriculture or animal husbandry can provide candidates with a deeper understanding of livestock management, animal welfare, and sustainable farming practices, giving them a competitive edge in this hands-on career.
The Role & Expectations
As a sheep shearer, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the health and productivity of sheep flocks across the UK. Your primary responsibility will be to shear sheep efficiently and humanely, ensuring that the wool is harvested without causing distress to the animals. You will also need to collaborate with farmers and other agricultural workers to ensure that the shearing process aligns with the overall farm management strategy. This role is perfect for those who enjoy working with animals and are looking for a physically engaging career that contributes to sustainable agriculture in the UK.
