Career Progression Path
Is this the only route?
This is the standard academic trajectory, but modern careers are highly flexible. You can often skip stages by entering the industry with an advanced qualification (like a Master's or PhD), or pivot sideways from a related discipline.
University Degree
Usually 3 to 4 years of full-time academic study, explicitly preparing you for the theoretical realities of the industry.
Junior Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner
In this entry-level role, you will support clients under the supervision of experienced practitioners, gaining hands-on experience in mental health care.
Mid-level Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner
At this stage, you will take on more complex cases and may supervise junior staff, contributing to service development and improvement.
Senior Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner
In a senior role, you will lead teams, develop treatment programmes, and influence mental health policy within your organisation.
