Is this the only route?

University Degree
Usually 3 to 4 years of full-time academic study, explicitly preparing you for the theoretical realities of the industry.
Junior Political Journalist
In this entry-level role, you will assist senior journalists in researching and writing articles, gaining hands-on experience in the newsroom and developing your writing skills.
Mid-level Political Journalist
At this stage, you will take on more responsibility, covering significant political events and producing in-depth analyses, while mentoring junior staff.
Senior Political Journalist/Editor
In a senior role, you will lead a team of journalists, oversee major political coverage, and shape editorial direction, often representing your organisation in public forums.
