Career Progression Path
Is this the only route?
This is the standard academic trajectory, but modern careers are highly flexible. You can often skip stages by entering the industry with an advanced qualification (like a Master's or PhD), or pivot sideways from a related discipline.
University Degree
Usually 3 to 4 years of full-time academic study, explicitly preparing you for the theoretical realities of the industry.
Junior Milker
As a Junior Milker, you will learn the basics of milking and animal care, working under the supervision of experienced staff.
Mid-Level Milker
In this role, you will take on more responsibilities, including training junior staff and managing milking schedules.
Senior Milker/Farm Manager
As a Senior Milker or Farm Manager, you will oversee all milking operations, implement best practices, and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
