Career Progression Path
Is this the only route?
This is the standard academic trajectory, but modern careers are highly flexible. You can often skip stages by entering the industry with an advanced qualification (like a Master's or PhD), or pivot sideways from a related discipline.
University Degree
Usually 3 to 4 years of full-time academic study, explicitly preparing you for the theoretical realities of the industry.
Junior Manager
As a Junior Manager, you will assist in daily operations and learn the ropes of managing a service-based business. This role often involves supporting senior managers and gaining hands-on experience in various aspects of the business.
Mid-Level Manager
In a Mid-Level Manager role, you will take on more responsibility, overseeing specific departments or projects. You will be expected to drive performance and implement strategies to improve service delivery.
Senior Manager/Proprietor
As a Senior Manager or Proprietor, you will be responsible for the overall success of the business. This includes strategic planning, financial management, and leading a team of managers to achieve organisational goals.
