This is the standard academic trajectory, but modern careers are highly flexible. You can often skip stages by entering the industry with an advanced qualification (like a Master's or PhD), or pivot sideways from a related discipline.

Usually 3 to 4 years of full-time academic study, explicitly preparing you for the theoretical realities of the industry.

Mid-level Language Teacher
In a mid-level position, you will take on more responsibility in curriculum development and student assessment. You will also mentor junior teachers and contribute to school-wide language initiatives.
Senior Language Teacher/Head of Languages
At the peak of your career, you will lead the language department, oversee curriculum design, and implement innovative teaching strategies. You will play a key role in shaping language education policy within your institution.
