Is this the only route?
This is the standard academic trajectory, but modern careers are highly flexible. You can often skip stages by entering the industry with an advanced qualification (like a Master's or PhD), or pivot sideways from a related discipline.
University Degree
Usually 3 to 4 years of full-time academic study, explicitly preparing you for the theoretical realities of the industry.
Junior Builder
As a Junior Builder, you will assist experienced builders on site, learning the ropes and gaining hands-on experience in various construction tasks.
Mid-Level Builder
In this role, you will take on more responsibility, managing specific tasks and possibly supervising junior builders while ensuring quality and safety standards are met.
Senior Builder
As a Senior Builder, you will oversee entire projects, coordinating teams, managing budgets, and ensuring compliance with regulations while mentoring junior staff.
