Career Progression Path
Is this the only route?
This is the standard academic trajectory, but modern careers are highly flexible. You can often skip stages by entering the industry with an advanced qualification (like a Master's or PhD), or pivot sideways from a related discipline.
University Degree
Usually 3 to 4 years of full-time academic study, explicitly preparing you for the theoretical realities of the industry.
Junior Architect
As a Junior Architect, you will assist in the design process, create drawings, and support senior architects in project development.
Mid-Level Architect
In this role, you will take on more responsibility in project management, client interaction, and design development, leading smaller projects.
Senior Architect
As a Senior Architect, you will lead major projects, mentor junior staff, and play a key role in strategic planning and client relationships.
