About this course
Engineering physics is a degree that applies the principles and techniques of physics to the design, analysis, and development of real engineering systems, sitting deliberately at the boundary between a pure physics education and a professional engineering formation. Physics is one of the oldest academic disciplines and continues to make significant contributions to modern society, with theoretical breakthroughs that feed into new sciences and foster modern technologies, from quantum devices and photonics to materials science and advanced energy systems. Engineering physics takes these foundations and asks how they can be applied to produce solutions to real-world engineering challenges. At Aberystwyth University, this three-year full-time programme combines knowledge, skills, and training in physics with the production of engineering solutions in real-world situations.
