About this course

Management with international business is a degree that takes the core of management education and extends it outward, examining how organisations operate not just domestically but in the complex, varied, and often unpredictable environment of global markets. International business adds knowledge of cross-cultural management, global strategy, international trade, and the diverse political, regulatory, and economic environments in which multinational organisations must operate. The year in business gives you an extended period of professional experience, putting your academic knowledge to work in a real organisation before you complete your degree.

At Royal Holloway, this four-year full-time degree is taught in a business school that takes a fresh and intellectually challenging approach to management research and education. You will learn from internationally renowned experts who bring their research and professional experience into the classroom, giving you management knowledge that is both current and grounded in evidence. The international business specialism develops your understanding of how organisations expand globally, what cultural and institutional factors shape success in different markets, and how managers must adapt their thinking and practice to operate effectively across borders.

The year abroad provides genuine immersive experience in a different academic and cultural environment, complementing the professional experience of the year in business and building the international perspective that global careers require.

Royal Holloway's location in the Greater London area gives you access to one of the world's most concentrated international business communities.

Graduates go on to careers in international management, consultancy, finance, trade, marketing, supply chain management, and business development across the public and private sectors. Many pursue an MBA or postgraduate study in international business or management, and the combination of academic rigour, international experience, and professional placement makes graduates highly competitive for roles with a global dimension.

Would do it again
The programme genuinely lives up to its reputation. The best part: the accounting and finance streams are taught by practitioners, not just academics. If I'm honest, a few modules feel under-resourced compared to the flagship ones. On the c…

Highly recommend
The course has exceeded my expectations. The best part: the cohort are bright and motivated, which makes the learning environment great. If I'm honest, some seminar groups were too big for meaningful discussion. On the city β€” good transport…
