About this course

Digital marketing and information technology is a degree that prepares you for the growing intersection of the two fields that together define much of contemporary commercial and communicative life. Digital marketing is the discipline of reaching and engaging audiences through online channels, using data, content, search, social media, and paid advertising to build awareness, generate leads, and retain customers. Information technology provides the technical foundations and systems thinking that underpin all digital activity, from the platforms that digital marketers use to the data infrastructure that makes personalisation and measurement possible.

At Liverpool Hope this four-year programme includes a foundation year and provides a sandwich year, a year abroad, and a work placement, giving you a rich combination of professional and international experience. Digital marketing at Hope combines theory with practical examples, ensuring academic rigour alongside real-world relevance. Your IT studies will develop your technical literacy across systems, networks, databases, and the digital tools that underpin modern marketing technology stacks.

The combination equips you to work across both the creative and strategic dimensions of digital marketing and the technical platforms that enable it.

Graduates of digital marketing and information technology are well placed for careers in digital marketing agencies, in-house marketing teams, e-commerce businesses, technology companies, and the growing marketing technology sector. Roles include digital marketing manager, SEO specialist, paid media analyst, content strategist, marketing technologist, and CRM specialist. The technical IT component strengthens your credentials for roles at the intersection of marketing and technology, including marketing automation, data analytics, and digital product management.

Many graduates also continue to postgraduate study in digital marketing, marketing analytics, or information technology, building on the dual expertise the degree provides.
