About this course

Energy engineering is the branch of engineering concerned with the generation, conversion, distribution, and efficient use of energy in all its forms. As the world transitions away from fossil fuels towards renewable and low-carbon alternatives, energy engineers are central to one of the most consequential technological shifts in human history. The discipline requires a thorough grounding in electrical theory, thermodynamics, power systems, and control engineering, and those foundations are just as relevant to renewable energy, smart grids, and energy storage as they are to traditional power generation.

The distance learning Energy Engineering programme at Teesside University is delivered by flexible open learning, making it accessible to students who need to study around work or personal commitments.
