Sports Injury Rehabilitation

Sports injury rehabilitation focuses on the assessment, treatment and recovery management of injuries sustained in sport and physical activity, combining knowledge from anatomy, physiology, biomechanics and clinical practice to support athletes and active individuals back to full function. At Wrexham University, this three-year full-time degree includes a foundation year, making the total studied period four years and providing the additional scientific and clinical groundwork needed if you are building towards the profession from a non-traditional starting point.

You will study the structure and function of the musculoskeletal system alongside the mechanisms by which injuries occur, and you will develop practical skills in assessment, rehabilitation exercise prescription and the use of therapeutic modalities. The programme balances laboratory and classroom-based learning with clinical placement experience, where you apply your developing skills under supervised conditions. The foundation year develops your core knowledge in physiology, anatomy and study skills before you move into the main degree.

A typical entry tariff of around 120 points is expected for the programme.
