Sports Business Management

Sports business management sits at the intersection of sport and commerce, recognising that the sports industry is now a substantial global economy requiring professionals who understand both the world of sport and the principles of business management. From professional football clubs and sporting goods companies to leisure centres, event management, and sports broadcasting, the organisations that make up the sports and recreation sector need graduates who can manage resources, lead teams, market products, and think strategically.

This BSc (Hons) at Manchester Metropolitan University equips you with the understanding and skills needed for a successful career in the sport, recreation, and leisure industries. You will study business management alongside the specific commercial, operational, and ethical dimensions of the sports sector, covering areas such as sports marketing, event management, financial management, sports law, and the business of elite sport. The programme includes a sandwich placement year and a work placement, integrating substantial professional experience into the degree.
