Sport Science, Health and Nutrition

Sport science, health, and nutrition is a degree that explores the biology and physiology of human performance and wellbeing from three complementary directions. Sport science examines how the body adapts to exercise, how training loads should be managed, how psychological factors affect athletic performance, and how injury can be prevented and managed. Health science takes a broader view, examining the determinants of physical and mental health across populations and the evidence base for interventions that promote wellbeing.

Nutrition science investigates how dietary intake affects energy metabolism, body composition, health outcomes, and athletic performance, drawing on biochemistry, physiology, and population health research.

At Nottingham Trent University you will study this four-year full-time programme, which includes a foundation year to provide academic preparation before the main degree begins.
