Over four years of full-time study you will explore classic and contemporary sociological theory, research methods both qualitative and quantitative, and a range of substantive topics including class, gender, race, religion, crime, health, work, and globalisation. The extended format and the sandwich year placement give you additional time to develop these skills and to apply them in community and professional contexts. Work placement opportunities are integrated throughout the programme, and the year abroad option allows you to study sociology in a different national and cultural context, deepening your comparative understanding of how societies are organised differently around the world.
