Sociology and English

Sociology and English is a combination that approaches human experience from two complementary directions. Sociology examines how societies are structured, how inequalities are produced and reproduced, and how institutions and cultural forces shape the conditions in which people live. English literature explores those same human realities through narrative, language, and imaginative form, reading the ways that literary texts both reflect and critique the social worlds they come from.

Together, these disciplines ask serious questions about who we are, how we are shaped by where and when we live, and what literature reveals about the human experience of social life.
