At Swansea University, this three-year, full-time degree is a professional qualifying programme that leads to eligibility to register as a social worker with Social Care Wales, the regulatory body for social care in Wales, upon successful completion. You will study the legal and policy frameworks that govern social work practice, including child protection, mental health law, and adult safeguarding legislation, alongside the theoretical frameworks that inform assessment and intervention in diverse situations. Practice placements are central to the training, giving you direct supervised experience in real social work settings across children's services, adult social care, and community social work.
