About this course

Robotics is at the centre of one of the most significant technological transitions of our time. Intelligent robots are already transforming manufacturing, logistics, healthcare, agriculture, and consumer technology, and as the underlying technologies of machine learning, sensing, and actuation continue to advance, the scope of what robots can do in the world is expanding rapidly. Studying robotics at degree level gives you the technical and conceptual foundations to work at this frontier, contributing to the development and deployment of systems that will reshape how work and life are organised.

At Liverpool Hope University, this four-year full-time degree with integrated foundation year provides an accessible entry route for students who need to build their technical and academic foundations before entering the core programme. The foundation year develops the mathematical, scientific, and study skills you need before you progress into the robotics degree itself, where you will engage with the full breadth of the discipline: mechanical design, electronics, programming, control theory, sensor integration, and the AI techniques that give robots the ability to perceive and respond to their environments. A sandwich year provides extended professional experience, a year abroad broadens your perspective and develops international professional awareness, and work placement experience is integrated throughout.
