Psychosocial and Psychoanalytic Studies
In this course you look at the psychological factors that influence our emotions, behaviours and relationships and shape our everyday lives. This four-year BA Psychosocial and Psychoanalytic Studies (including Foundation Year) is designed for students who do not yet meet entry requirements for a three-year degree but want to progress into higher education in social sciences and psychoanalytic studies. You’ll begin with a Foundation Year (Year Zero) before progressing into three further years of specialist study in Psychosocial and Psychoanalytic Studies, building the academic skills and theoretical understanding needed for advanced study and professional pathways.
During Year Zero, you will study on the Social Sciences Pathway, covering topics such as analysing the social and political world, and people and society, before progressing onto your degree. From Year One onwards, you will explore psychoanalytic theory and its application to individuals, relationships, groups, organisations, culture, and society.
