Psychology is the scientific study of mind, brain, and behaviour, asking how people think, perceive, feel, remember, learn, and act, and what happens when these processes go wrong. It is a discipline that draws on biology, philosophy, statistics, and the social sciences, making it one of the most genuinely interdisciplinary fields available to undergraduate students. At Wrexham University, this three-year full-time programme is available with a foundation year for students who need to build their academic skills and subject knowledge before embarking on degree-level study. That first year develops your understanding of psychological theories and concepts alongside the study and research methods skills that are fundamental to the degree, ensuring you enter the full programme with confidence and preparation. From there, you will study core areas of psychology, including biological, cognitive, developmental, social, and individual differences psychology, building the theoretical and empirical grounding required for a recognised psychology degree.

You will also develop practical research skills, including the design and analysis of psychological studies, giving you the ability to collect, interpret, and report data in ways that meet scientific standards.
