Psychology with Spanish

Psychology is the scientific study of human mind and behaviour, asking how people think, feel, perceive, remember, and relate to each other across the whole span of life. It is a discipline built on rigorous research methods, combining experimental investigation, statistical analysis, and careful observation to build understanding that is genuinely evidence-based. Spanish, one of the most widely spoken languages in the world, opens access to the cultures, literatures, and societies of Spain and Latin America, and developing fluency in a major second language is a distinctively valuable addition to a scientific training.

At the University of Dundee, this four-year full-time degree allows you to pursue psychology and Spanish as equally serious academic disciplines. You will study the core areas of psychology, including developmental psychology, social psychology, cognitive psychology, biological psychology, and individual differences, building the broad foundation required for British Psychological Society accreditation. Research skills are central to the programme, developing your ability to design, conduct, and critically evaluate psychological investigations.

You will also learn how the human mind works from infancy through to old age, gaining a lifespan perspective on psychological development. The programme includes a year abroad, which is likely to take place in a Spanish-speaking country, providing genuine linguistic and cultural immersion that significantly deepens your fluency and cross-cultural understanding.

Graduates are eligible for Graduate Basis for Chartered Membership with the British Psychological Society, which opens routes to postgraduate professional training in clinical, educational, forensic, or occupational psychology.
