Psychology is the scientific discipline concerned with understanding human and animal mind and behaviour: how we perceive, think, feel, remember, decide, interact and develop across the lifespan. It is an empirical science that uses experiments, surveys, observations and neuroimaging to generate and test knowledge about psychological processes, and it applies that knowledge to a wide range of real-world contexts, from clinical treatment to educational intervention, from workplace design to marketing and policy.

At Coventry University, this three-year programme invites you to unlock the secrets of human behaviour and explore contemporary psychology issues while developing practical skills for careers in psychology and beyond, as the university's own description puts it. The degree is accredited by the British Psychological Society, meaning it provides the Graduate Basis for Chartered Membership that is the required first step toward becoming a Chartered Psychologist. You will study the major domains of the discipline, including cognitive, social, biological, developmental and clinical psychology, alongside research methods and statistics, which are central to any serious psychological education.

The programme includes a sandwich year, a year abroad and work placements, giving you structured routes to apply your learning in real-world environments and develop professional experience alongside your academic study.
