This three-year, full-time programme at Bangor includes a foundation year that eases your transition into undergraduate study and builds the foundational skills and knowledge you need to thrive in the main degree. The programme also includes a placement year and a year abroad, both of which give you the opportunity to develop professionally and personally in contexts beyond the university. During your placement you will work within a design or manufacturing environment, gaining first-hand experience of how design decisions are made and products are brought to market.

Graduates in product design move into roles across consumer electronics, furniture and interiors, medical devices, transport, packaging, and the broader creative industries.
