Primary Education Studies

Primary Education Studies is a degree that examines how children in the primary years learn, develop, and experience schooling, engaging with the theory and research that underpins effective primary education. The programme does not lead to Qualified Teacher Status, making it distinct from initial teacher education. You will study child development, inclusive education, curriculum and assessment, educational policy, and research methods, developing the analytical skills to engage critically with debates about what primary education is for and how it works in practice.

Graduates from Primary Education Studies pursue a range of careers in and around education.
