Practical Wildlife Management

Practical wildlife management is concerned with the hands-on skills and scientific understanding needed to manage wild animal populations, their habitats, and the complex human contexts in which they exist. At Wrexham University, this three-year full-time programme places a strong emphasis on applied, field-based learning alongside the theoretical and scientific foundations of the discipline. You will study ecology, animal behaviour, habitat management, game management, pest control, and the legal context for wildlife work in the UK. Field skills including survey techniques, trapping and handling, and habitat assessment are central to the programme, reflecting its practical orientation.
