About this course

Physics with astrophysics is a degree that uses the principles of physics to explore the cosmos, from our own solar system to galaxies and the large-scale structure of the universe. By combining physics with astrophysics, you will develop your understanding of the material world at both the fundamental and the astronomical scale, studying the physical nature of bodies and processes in space alongside the instruments and techniques used in modern astronomical research. You will study classical mechanics, electromagnetism, quantum physics, thermodynamics, and relativity alongside the specific theories and observational methods of astrophysics, including stellar physics, cosmology, galaxy formation, and the detection and analysis of electromagnetic radiation from astrophysical sources.
