About this course

Physics deals with the most fundamental questions that can be asked about the natural world: how does matter behave at the smallest scales, what is the structure of space and time, how do forces and fields operate, and how did the universe come to be the way it is? These are not merely abstract questions; the answers physics provides underpin the technologies that define modern life and shape how humanity responds to its most pressing challenges, from clean energy to computing, medical imaging, and materials science.

At Warwick this three-year full-time programme develops your understanding of the beautiful theories that describe the properties of space and matter, from quantum mechanics and electromagnetism to thermodynamics, optics, and the physics of condensed matter. The curriculum is rigorous and mathematical, building the quantitative skills that allow you to engage with physics not just as a collection of facts but as a set of powerful frameworks for understanding the world.
