Philosophy is the discipline that asks the questions other subjects tend to take for granted. What can we know, and how can we be certain of it? What makes an action right or wrong?

At the University of Nottingham, this three-year, full-time degree offers a thorough grounding in the main branches of the discipline, including epistemology, metaphysics, ethics, political philosophy, and the philosophy of mind. You will engage with canonical texts in the Western philosophical tradition and with contemporary debates that draw on those foundations.
