Philosophy and English literature are two of the oldest and most searching disciplines in the humanities, and they complement each other in ways that are both intellectually and practically valuable. At Anglia Ruskin University, this three-year full-time programme draws on both traditions to give you a broad and rigorous education in ideas and expression. You will engage with major philosophical questions, including who we are, what we can know, and how we should live, exploring how great thinkers across history have approached them and how those answers still shape the way we think. Alongside this, you will read widely in English literature, developing the close reading and critical interpretation skills that are central to literary study.

Graduates from philosophy and English literature programmes are well-equipped for careers that demand strong thinking and communication.
