Modern Languages (Persian and Russian) and International Relations

At the University of St Andrews, this four-year MA (Hons) programme develops both Persian and Russian to a high level of proficiency while giving you a rigorous grounding in international relations theory and contemporary global affairs. You will develop linguistic skills in two demanding and rewarding languages alongside the analytical frameworks of international relations, learning to combine direct access to primary sources with sophisticated understanding of the political contexts in which those languages operate. A year abroad is built into the programme, providing immersive language study and international academic experience that deepens both your linguistic and your political understanding.
