Modern Languages and History

Modern languages and history are disciplines that illuminate each other in important ways. In modern languages you will develop your proficiency to an advanced level while engaging with the literatures, cultures, and histories of the language communities you study. You will develop skills in linguistic analysis and cultural interpretation alongside the archival reading, source criticism, and structured argument that history demands.
