About this course

Mechanical and electrical engineering is a combined discipline that reflects the reality of modern industry, where mechanical systems rarely operate without electrical power, control and instrumentation, and where electrical systems frequently drive or monitor mechanical processes. Engineers who understand both domains are more effective at designing integrated systems and are able to cross the professional boundaries that specialists sometimes struggle to navigate. At Robert Gordon University, this four-year full-time degree is explicitly designed to meet industry demand for engineers with dual competence, particularly in sectors like energy, oil and gas, manufacturing and offshore engineering where this breadth is especially valued.
