About this course

Mathematics is one of the oldest and most fundamental intellectual disciplines, concerned with the study of quantity, structure, space, change, and the logical relationships between abstract objects. It underpins virtually every quantitative science and technology, and it develops a kind of rigorous, systematic thinking that is transferable to an exceptionally wide range of careers and problems. Mathematicians learn to formulate questions precisely, construct proofs, and reason from first principles, skills that are valuable well beyond the academic study of the subject itself.

At Hull this three-year full-time programme covers the core areas of mathematics, including pure mathematics, applied mathematics, and statistics, with the flexibility to pursue the areas that most interest you as your studies progress.
