About this course

Mathematics and Economics is a combination degree that draws together two of the most analytically rigorous disciplines in higher education, both of which rely on mathematical reasoning as their primary tool for understanding complex systems. Mathematics provides the foundational methods of proof, modelling, optimisation and statistical inference that make rigorous economic analysis possible, while economics applies these tools to the study of how individuals, markets, institutions and governments make decisions under conditions of scarcity and uncertainty.
