About this course

Marketing and data analytics is a combination that reflects how profoundly the practice of marketing has been transformed by the availability of digital data. Where marketing once relied primarily on creative judgment and broad demographic research, modern marketers now have access to detailed data on consumer behaviour, campaign performance, and market trends, and the ability to analyse that data rigorously has become a core professional competency. Studying marketing alongside data analytics gives you the conceptual understanding of consumer behaviour, brand strategy, and communication alongside the quantitative and technical skills to work with real marketing data at scale.

At the University of East Anglia, this four-year full-time programme includes a year abroad, giving you the opportunity to study in a different country and experience both academic and marketing cultures beyond the UK. The year abroad is a significant element of the degree, broadening your perspective and giving you the kind of international experience that employers in global marketing environments value increasingly highly. During the taught parts of the programme, you will study core marketing theory and strategy, consumer psychology, digital marketing, brand management, and the methods and tools used to collect, analyse, and visualise marketing data.

You will develop practical skills in working with datasets, using analytical software, and interpreting the insights that data provides to support marketing decisions. UEA has a strong reputation for applied business education, and the programme is designed with graduate employability firmly in mind.

Graduates from this programme are well suited to careers in digital marketing, marketing analytics, market research, brand management, content strategy, and customer insight roles across a wide range of industries. The combination of strategic marketing understanding and data skills is particularly valued by technology companies, retailers, financial services firms, media organisations, and consultancies. Some graduates go on to postgraduate study in marketing, data science, or business analytics, while others move directly into roles where their dual skill set gives them an advantage in a competitive graduate market.

Exceeded expectations
This is the perfect place to study this subject. The best part: the cohort are bright and motivated, which makes the learning environment great. If I'm honest, a few modules feel under-resourced compared to the flagship ones. On the city β€” …
