Law (Senior Status) is an accelerated undergraduate law programme designed for graduates who already hold a degree in another subject and want to gain a full qualifying law degree in a compressed timeframe. It covers the core areas of English law at degree level, providing the academic legal education needed for entry into solicitor or barrister training, or for the range of other careers in which legal knowledge and analytical training are valued. The two-year format is more intensive than a standard three-year LLB, which suits graduates who can commit fully to the academic demands of legal study.

At Hull, this two-year full-time programme is taught by legal academics whose research influences policy, regulatory change and public debate, giving you access to an intellectually engaged and professionally connected legal community. You will study the fundamental principles of English law across the core subjects, developing the legal reasoning, research and written advocacy skills that all legal education demands, and doing so within a relatively small and close-knit law school community where individual attention is possible.

The Senior Status route is well suited to graduates who have decided on a legal career after completing a first degree in another discipline, whether that degree was in the humanities, social sciences, sciences or another field. Many find that their existing degree strengthens their legal studies, and the legal profession is increasingly interested in graduates who bring specialist knowledge from other disciplines.

Graduates of the Senior Status LLB pursue solicitor training contracts, bar training and pupillages, and roles in the public sector, financial services, compliance and management consulting where legal knowledge is valued. The qualification gives full eligibility for professional legal qualification routes in England and Wales.
