This course provides a strong grounding in the key principles of law in England, Wales, and Canada. It runs alongside the standard LLB (Hons) Law course. It shares the same core modules and offers optional modules that meet the requirements for an English qualifying law degree.
This course gives you the knowledge and understanding of the fundamental doctrines and principles which underpin the law of England, Wales, and Canada. This pathway is recognised and provides a strong foundation to pursue a legal career in all these countries. It also satisfies the academic stage of training for students wishing to study the Bar Course.
The pathway runs alongside our current LLB (Hons) Law (opens in new tab) course, and you'll join students studying that course. Together, you'll study a broad range of core and a choice of optional modules that meet the Bar Council requirements for an English qualifying law degree. You'll also study two core Canadian modules in Year 2 and Year 3.
Through these modules, you'll gain comprehension of the Canadian legal system and constitutional law. This will prepare you for the Canadian National Committee on Accreditation exams to qualify for the Canadian bar.
