International Relations

International relations is the study of how states, international organisations, non-governmental bodies, and other actors interact across borders, and of the forces that shape the global order. It examines how power, diplomacy, conflict, cooperation, trade, and ideas flow between countries and regions, and how international institutions attempt to manage the tensions and inequalities that result. It is a discipline rooted in history and theory but animated by the most pressing questions of contemporary global life.
