International Relations and Politics
International relations and politics is the academic study of how states, international organisations, and non-state actors interact on the world stage, and of the domestic political processes that shape their behaviour. International relations examines the causes of conflict and cooperation between states, the role of international institutions, the dynamics of trade and economic interdependence, and the challenges of global governance in areas such as climate change, human rights, and security. Politics situates these international questions in the context of domestic political systems, examining how governments are formed, how policies are made, and how citizens, parties, and movements seek to influence the direction of political life.
Together, the two disciplines provide a comprehensive understanding of power in the modern world.
